Welcome and Hello from Bodhi and me!

Hi there. This is my first attempt at a blog and whoa is it intimidating! There are so many options out there to start blogging and I am very overwhelmed. So here I am - I'm going to just jump right in.

I am a mom to 4 children, one very aged cat and foster mom to a Blue Heeler. I am fostering him for my best friends' family who is out of the country for a few years and I needed a way to get a temporary dog so I could "try one out" without being one of those pound parents. I have always wanted a dog. I grew up wanting Great Danes forever. I was blessed to have a couple family dogs, and I made sure I played with them and even "trained" one to do tricks (She could whisper!).

As I grew up and moved out, I was desperate to get a dog of my own. When I got married, my husband was adamant that we have our own house *with a fence* before we got a dog. We ended up with a cat (another post I promise!) and I was content for a while. A few years went by. we moved a few times and every house I lived in I became more and more anxious to fulfill the requirements set up by my husband (I did agree I promise, but I can put all the blame on him here).

My friends were getting ready to move out of country and there are strict regulations on the animals they let in to that country, so I offered to foster their younger pup until they get back in 1-3 years. I had already discussed this with my husband and he said we had to have a fence first. Well, he left the country for work and I had to accomplish this. So I did. It isn't the greatest fence, in fact it's not really secure if the dog really wants to go anywhere. But thankfully this doggo is content to be here.

Enter Bodhi! He is a 1.5 year old Australian Cattle dog a.k.a. Blue Heeler. There are 2 main colored Heelers - Red and Blue and then combination of the 2. They are super-smart (oh gosh they're smart!), super-pushy, super-fast, and so loyal! I have learned so much in the 8 months he has been here and I look forward to learning more with him.
